Carol was a proud and hardworking woman. She retired from Timken in July of 2016, and throughout her life also worked at American Optical and Historic Window and Door. She was deeply involved in her community, serving as a former member of the Elks Emblem Club 927, a member of the Eagles 1413 Auxiliary, and a former President of the Alstead Jayceettes. She was also a DAR, Daughter of the American Revolution.
Carol had many passions and interests. She was a devoted fan of the Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots, adored her cats, and cherished time spent at the island on Warren Pond, Sand Pond and the coast of Maine. She loved going out to eat, visiting with friends and family, often bringing her treasured meatballs, and she especially enjoyed traveling to Disney with her husband and their “kids” Jim, JoAnne & Hunter Daris of Fitzwilliam, NH.
Carol is survived by her husband of 21 years, Maurice Marcotte; her mother, Jeannie Perry of Surry; her son Robert Swift (Joan) of Charlestown, NH, her daughter Belinda Nardello (Frank) of Rochester, NH, and her stepdaughter, Elizabeth Ainsworth (Christopher) of Bellows Falls, VT. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Matthew, Megan, Shawna, Caleb, Emma, Hannah and Isaac, and a great-grandmother to their children.
Carol “Sis” is also survived by her siblings Herbert “Butch” C. Pratt of Swanzey, Edward C. Hatch (Bileta) of Alstead, Wayne K. Hatch (Patty) of Alstead, Deborah (John) Behrens of Arizona, Richard Pratt of Arizona, and David (Theresa) Pratt of Arizona. She was predeceased by her father Hebert of Elfrida, AZ, and her sister Gloria.
She leaves behind cherished cousins, nieces and nephews, including Joy, Amy, and Rob whom Carol warmly welcomed into her home at various times and raised as her own. Carol was blessed with many close friends who became family, including Jason and Janel Miller of Gilsum, NH and their children.
Carol Ann Marcotte will be remembered for her big heart, her love of family, her generosity, her sense of fun, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
