Carolyn Beard Hine

She was born in Concord, NH on April 30, 1924, the daughter of Fred W. and Elizabeth (Pinkney) Jewell. She spent her childhood in Stratham and was a 1942 graduate of Robinson Seminary in Exeter and a 1946 graduate of Keene State College (Keene Normal School).

Mrs. Hine taught in Laconia and Keene prior to teaching in Munsonville for eleven years. She also was a salesperson at one time for the Fuller Brush Company and Salad Master. She also had previously sold real estate, worked at the Marlow Post Office and had been employed the at the Ye Goode Shoppe.

Mrs. Hine enjoyed snowmobiling. She also enjoyed motorcycling and actually was still riding until she turned 75. She was a member of the Keene Senior Swingers as well.

She is survived by her sons Leslie Berry of Keene and Brian Beard of Moodus, CT; her daughter Barbara Sanders of Lempster NH; her brother Edward Jewell of Warren,RI and several grandchildren. Her husbands Gilbert Berry, Harold Beard and John Hine all died earlier.

Services for Mrs. Hine will be held on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011, 12:30 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Calling hours will be held one hour earlier, also at the funeral home.
