OBITUARY

Carolyn Ann Koch

February 15, 1937March 23, 2018

Carolyn A. Koch, 81 of North Swanzey and Ocala, FL, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Langdon Place of Keene with family by her side following a period of declining health.

She was born February 15, 1937 in Keene, the daughter of Clarence and Charlotte (McClure) Patterson. She attended area schools and graduate from Keene High School, Class of 1955.

A chance meeting at the DMV brought Carolyn and the love of her life, William F. Koch together. On September 16, 1978 the two married at the United Church of Christ in Keene and celebrated nearly 40 years of marriage.

Before relocating to Florida, Carolyn spent time employed at Cheshire Medical Center and for Cheshire Oil. In Ocala, up until retirement, Carolyn worked at Monroe Regional Medical Center as a receptionist.

Carolyn loved life and if there was one thing she knew it was how to celebrate life and live fully. She could be counted on for always knowing what her loved ones were up to. Family was important to her and she took pleasure in being a shutterbug, capturing their moments together. She liked spending time outdoors – especially spending time at the beach, going for walks, and most of all being in her garden. Carolyn enjoyed traveling and visiting Atlantic City and going to the Daytona Races and Daytona Beach – a favorite destination of Carolyn and William. She was a woman who was always put together and always put others first. She will be dearly remembered for her kind and sweet nature.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her loving husband: William F. Koch of North Swanzey; sons: Michael Murdock and his wife Marcia of Swanzey, and James Murdock and his wife Debbie of Plainville, MA; daughters: Kathleen Koch of Davis, CA, Kristina Doucette and her husband Alan of North Berwick, ME, and Karen Senecal of Portsmouth; grandchildren: Carrie Sevene and her husband Charles, Michelle Murdock, Kimberly Flynn and her husband Michael, Brandon Murdock, Kassandra Ori-McKenney, Adam Ori, Dylan Doucette, Nicholas Doucette, and Jennifer Senecal; great-grandchildren: Carly, Haily, Harper, Madelyn, Colin, Madison, and Kathleen; brother: Steven Patterson and his wife Sheran of Spofford; sister: Kathy Barrett of Bellview, FL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene, NH on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00 am.

While flowers will gladly be accepted, family has requested that memorial donations may be made in Carolyn A. Koch’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011, by phone 800-272-3900, or at www.alz.org.

We were in the lower driveway in Harrisville.I remember Carolyn and a couple of friends discussing what snack they brought for recess on my very first day of school in first grade at the school behind the store in Harrisville - a banana. Of course, I had no idea what recess was and that worried me. A first grader on the very first day of school and Carolyn must've been in the 3rd grade. Lawrence McClure

My condolences to all my family on the passing of my cousin Carolyn. I wish I could be with you at this time but my health does not permit extended travel. I remember Carolyn with great affection, swimming in the lake at Harrisville, visiting them all on Elm St in Keene and all the things we did together as children. God has promised that one day we will all be together again, and I look forward to that day.
