

He was born in the Bronx, New York, November 25, 1929, the son of Johanna (Moore) and Charles J. Heissler, Sr.
Mr. Heissler was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict from March, 1951 until February, 1953 and was stationed in Indian Springs, Nevada.
He worked in lead production for 30 years with Hills Brothers Coffee in Edgewater, New Jersey. Following retirement, he moved to St. Johnsbury, VT, Arendtsville, PA, and later to Keene.
While residing in Keene, he was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene where he was a greater at the Saturday masses. He enjoyed taking long walks, meeting people and talking.
He is survived by his son, Gordon S. Heissler and his wife, Christina, of Middletown, Maryland; a sister, Jean Elizabeth Moran, of River Edge, NJ; several nieces and nephews; and his friend, Elizabeth Shields, of Keene. He was predeceased by his wife of over 40 years, Jean E. (Stark) Heissler on November 17, 1994, a brother, Richard Heissler, and a sister, Eileen Koch.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will be private. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
