She was born on June 5, 1963 in Keene, the daughter of Elizabeth (Willette) Day and Robert Champney.
Cheryl was a woman who was known for her outgoing personality and big heart. There was nothing that was more important to her than family. Cheryl had a way of bringing people together and was quick to forgive others. She was a determined woman who never gave up on anything or anyone.
Cheryl valued her involvement with family at The Salvation Army in Keene. She enjoyed camping, but nothing compared to the excitement she experienced going to yardsales and shopping. She would always find something for those she loved. Cheryl always rooted for her NASCAR favorite, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and New England’s baseball team, the Red Sox.
Cheryl will be dearly missed by her step-mother: Janice Champney of Drewsville; her children: Shaun Witfoth and his wife Amanda of Swanzey, Darryl Hudson of Keene, Natasha Hudson of Keene, and John Witfoth of Keene; 10 grandchildren; siblings: Bonnie Champney of Winchester, Robert E. Champney Sr. and his wife Susan of Stoddard, Raymond Supernor of Keene, Harold DeBell of Keene, and Tracy Butler and her husband Bruce of Wisconsin; fiancé: William “Bill” LaPlante of Keene; niece: Amanda Bashaw and her husband Robert of Iowa; nephew: Daniel Faulkner of Iowa; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
She is predeceased by her parents: Elizabeth Day and Robert Champney; sister: Debbie Champney; brother: Scott DeBell; and step-mother: Ginger DeBell.
Family and Friends are invited to call at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for a Celebration of Cheryl’s Life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope Foundation at the Cheshire Animal Hospital, 505 Winchester Street, Keene, NH 03431, in loving memory of Cheryl’s beloved dog Teddy.
