He was born in West Springfield, MA, May 16, 1920, the son of Theodore H. and Clara (Jarvis) Bergeron, and lived in Keene for most of his life. He was a 1939 graduate of Keene High School.
Mr. Bergeron was an Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II.
He was a machinist, and owned and operated Bergeron Machine Company in Keene for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and crafts, traveling to craft fairs throughout Florida, displaying and selling his crafts.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Grace (Carpenter) Bergeron, of Rochester, his children; Clarence R. Bergeron, Jr. of Laconia, NH, Linda Perry and her husband, David, of York, PA, Theodore Bergeron of Keene, and Kevin Bergeron and his wife, Bonnie, of Rochester, Donna Bergeron of Laconia, his grandchildren; Carrie Lennon and Stacey Harrison of Laconia, Jennifer Perry of York, PA, Apryl Flick of Summerville, SC, Rebecca Lydon and Catherine Bergeron of Keene, seven great grandchildren, his sister, Minerva Phillipson of Keene, and his brothers; Emile Bergeron and Theodore Bergeron both of Keene, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters; Lucina Bergeron, Ernest Bergeron, Edward Bergeron, Dorothy Westcott, Rose Arsenault, Rita Osgood, Elaine Bergeron, Alice Sturtevant and Yvonne Scobi, his granddaughter, Janice Barfield, and daughter-in-law, Donna Bergeron.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Family and friends are welcome. There are no public calling hours.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Mr. Bergeron’s memory to the American Cancer, New Hampshire Division, 360 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110, or to the American Diabetes Association New Hampshire Affiliate, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
