

Dale S. Johnson, 92, passed away on December 26th, 2024, at the Jack Byrnes Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH. Born on March 28th, 1932, Dale was a lifelong resident of Gilsum, NH, and a devout and dedicated member of his community.
His devotion to Gilsum was marked by his years serving as a Selectman, and his volunteer commitment to the Gilsum Fire and Rescue, Gilsum Historical Society, Gilsum Police Dept. and the Gilsum Rock Swap, among other ventures. Dale's professional career as a machinist and later as a mechanical engineer was spent at Fuller Machine in Alstead, NH, and Toolroom Craftsman and Precitech, Inc. He retired from Pneumo Precision in Keene, NH.
Dale proudly served his country as an Army veteran and was an active member of American Legion Post #85.
His hobbies included a love of socializing and cooking for friends and family, woodworking, traveling, gardening, and all things history, including restoration of antique cars.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Merrylin G. Johnson, his parents, Bill and Gladys Johnson, his brothers, Neil and Raymond Johnson, and his sister, Betty Pratt.
He is survived by his brother, Bill Johnson, his daughter and son-in-law, Bernadette and Steve Powers, grandsons Will Powers and partner, Jordyn, and Matt Powers and wife Alex, and his treasured great-granddaughters Artemis and Aurora Powers. He will be deeply missed by his beloved niece Robyn Natilla, nephew, Chris Johnson, niece, Carrie Johnson, and other extended family members.
