David William Mohr

June 18, 1960November 13, 2020

David William Mohr 60, a longtime resident of Keene, NH, passed away at his home in Keene on Friday, November 13, 2020.

His parents, Lois G. (Clough) and Frederick C. Mohr, Jr., welcomed their son into the world on June 18, 1960, in Willimantic, Conn. At an early age, David and his family moved from Coventry, Conn. to Keene, and was a longtime resident of 31 Beech Street. David attended local schools graduating in 1978 from Keene High School.

David began his working career with Supervalu in Keene, moving to Atlanta, GA and New Orleans, Louisiana to run distribution centers for many years.

In 1999, David moved back to Keene, working for Tire Warehouse, running their distribution center in Swanzey, NH. He later ran the Keene store until Tire Warehouse was acquired by Monro Auto Service where he became an inventory field auditor.

David had a special love of music, whether it be singing, playing or listening. He was an amazing singer and entertainer, was the lead singer for the "Dave Mohr Band" in the late 80’s, early 90’s, playing gigs, weddings and other special events in the Keene area, always lighting up the room.

From 2000-2010, David coached Keene Knights Pop Warner Football, coaching his son, Luke, for four years, winning two state championships in 2001-2003. His coaching left a lasting impression on so many kids, young men and parent’s lives.

David was an avid sports fan, including baseball, basketball and football. He especially had a love for the Buffalo Bills, as well as Keene High and New Hampshire sports. He also was an avid golfer.

He will be greatly missed by many in the community, especially his son, Lucas H. Mohr of Keene; his brothers, Frederick C. Mohr, III and his wife, Wanda, of Keene, Wayne Mohr and his wife, Kathleen, of Bloomsburg, PA; his companion of thirteen years, Pam LaChance of Keene and her two sons, Tyler LaChance of Cape Cod and Cameron LaChance, of Keene; and several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by a sister, Kathy Vasko.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date when we can all gather together safely.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made in Mr. Mohr’s memory to Patient Care Needs of Hospice, c/o Home Healthcare Hospice and Community Services, PO Box 564, Keene, NH 03431-0564.

Luke and Family-I was very sad to hear this news. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I have many positive memories of Dave coaching my son Chad many moons ago. He was a very upbeat guy and I always enjoyed running into him. He gave a lot of his time and positive energy to so many kids, and I will always be grateful.

My condolences to all of the Mohr family on the loss of David. I have known Dave since 1969, as a former student and friend. I gave Dave the nickname "Little Davey Mohr" back at Frnklkin School and would call him that every time I would see him. I had a love for David that traveled through the years and I am deeply saddened to find out about his passing. I like you, have some absolutely amazing memories and he will always have a place in my heart. May God Bless you all and may prayers help you at this very difficult time.

I remember Dave from KHS and then we connected again years later working at Tire Warehouse. Dave always had a big infectious smile and laugh. I have fond memories of singing backup to Dave with the Tired Retreads at one of theTire Warehouse Christmas parties. My prayers go out to Pam, Luke and all of their family.

To Pam and the rest of Dave's family: I worked with Dave for a number of years while at Monro. Dave was not only one of the hardest working and conscientious employees I have known, but he was also a kind and genuine man. He often talked about his family and when he did so, it was with a lot of love and pride. I was glad to have known him and will miss him.

God Bless Dave and your family.
Sincerely Cathy D'Amico
