
She was born in Keene, NH, March 24, 1920, the daughter of Wilber and Etta (Mayou) Doody. She was a 1939 graduate of Keene High School.
Mrs. Grout worked in retail sales with the former Goodnow Department Store in Keene, and with the State of New Hampshire Liquor Store in Keene.
She was an accomplished knitter and sewer. She was known for being meticulously dressed, always insisting that her attire matched to a “T”. However, the most important aspect of her life was that of her family whom she adored.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane Kenyon and her husband, Merle, of Grafton, five grandchildren; David Mulinski of Berlin, NH, Jesse Mulinski of Moultonborough, NH, Ali Kenyon of Grafton, Rebecca Soper of Grafton, Julio Hall, currently stationed at Ft. Drum, NY, eleven great-grandchildren, a brother, Donald Doody of Port Orange, FL, a sister, Alberta Ruelke, of Port Orange, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Milon J. Grout in 2001, a daughter, Heidi Mulinski in 2006, four brothers; Louis Doody in 1921, James Doody in 1975, Edward Doody in 1980, Roy Doody in 1987, and four sisters; Rita Murphy in 1985, Catherine Grout in 1993, Jeanette Hurley in 1996, and June Vitale in 2002.
Funeral services and burial in the Woodland Cemetery, Keene, will be private.
