

He was born in Concord, NH June 13, 1930, the son of the late Willis S. Ash, Sr. and Bertha (Lemarche) Ash.
He graduated from St. Dominic Academy in Lewiston, ME and served in the US Air Force at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado during the Korean War as Airmen First Class. He worked at Central Screw Company in Keene for 25 years and The Timken Company for 13 years. Larry was a devout Catholic and attended at St. Bernard’s Church, a devoted family man, active in the Society of Mechanical Engineers (SME), he received an award as a volunteer for driving retired veterans to and from Keene to the VA Medical Center in White River Jct. VT for 16 years, he was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 16.
He enjoyed canoeing, camping, golf, Moxie, peanut butter, and was quick to offer a helping hand to everyone. Larry will be fondly remembered for his profound love and respect for people from all walks of life, his strong morals and character, and his great love, dedication, patience, and support to his wife and family.
Survivors include his wife, Fern M. (Nault) Ash; one sister, Janet Graves of Concord; his half-sister, Lois Jordan of West Fork, AK; four children Kathleen Ash of Keene, Cynthia Gallagher of Swanzey, Carolyn Noyes of Keene, E. Lawrence Ash Jr., of Falls Church, VA; nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. One sister, Marguerite Archambeault, and two half-brothers, Willis S. Ash, Jr., and Lloyd Ash died earlier.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2015, at 11am at St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH followed by full military honors for his Air Force service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions may be made in his name to the VA Medical Center, Attention: Voluntary Services, 215 N. Main Street, White River Jct., VT 05009-0001.
