Ernest A. Faucher, 96, a resident of Keene, NH passed away at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Keene, NH on Sunday, May 6, 2018.

He was born June 28, 1921 in Manchester, NH the son of Louis A and Elmire (Petit) Faucher, Sr.

He proudly served our Nation as a member of the United States Army during World War II, serving in the Papua Campaign in New Guinae. In 2017 he had the opportunity to travel to Washington DC to be honored as one of the oldest survivors of WWII. He was a proud member of the Gordon Bissell American Legion Keene Post #4 and the Veterans of Foreign War Post #799, serving as Commander of the VFW for several years. He was also a member of the Keene Lodge of the Elks, #927.

Above everything, he loved his family and was a devoted dad and grandpa. He always supported the interests of his grandchildren by supporting their dancing and range shooting. For many years he was also the coach of local baseball team and enjoyed making the lasting relationships that he formed through this work.

He is survived by his daughter: Velida Lang and her husband, Edward, of Troy; grandchildren, Edward Lang III and his wife, Catherine, Kelly Bates and her husband, John, and Sean Phagan; great-grandchildren, Allison, Sophia, Jack, Nicholas, Hunter and Emily; his sister-in-law, Barbara Faucher; nieces and nephews, Frank Eaton, Donna Morse and Deborah Faucher; and several other extended family members. He is also survived by his dear friend, Phillip Nicoli.

He is predeceased by his sisters, Nathalie Eaton and Louise Faucher; and brothers, Louis Faucher, Jr. and Henry Faucher. He is also predeceased by the love of his life, Ellen Beauregard, with whom he shared decades of happiness in marriage.

A graveside service will be held in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene, NH on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 2pm. There will be no public calling hours.
