He was born in New York City, New York, November 13, 1932, the son of Vincent and Matilda (Costa) Fazio.
Mr. Fazio was a Marine Corp combat veteran, having served as a sergeant in the Korean War.
He spent most of his career working in the textile industry where he was well known for his expertise in the field. He moved from New York to Fairfield, Connecticut, where he worked for Norwalk Lace. In 1972 he moved to Swanzey where he worked for the former CSM Textile in West Swanzey and with Noone Falls of Peterborough. He later worked in area wholesale food sales, retiring in 1996.
Mr. Fazio enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as dancing and playing poker. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed debating current events, his time with his grandchildren and watching them participate in sporting events.
He was a member of the former Thompson-Hopkins VFW Post 2616 of West Swanzey, and the Daley Whipple VFW Keene Post 799.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marilyn A. (Cyr) Fazio of Swanzey, his children; Frank L. Fazio, Jr. and his wife, Liz, of Jaffrey, NH, Diana L. Kelly and her husband, Richard, of Alpharetta, GA, Cathy A. Thornton of Swanzey, Patti Stiles and her husband, Howard, of Dover Point, NH, Paul Fazio and his wife, Lisa, of Keene, his grandchildren; Jodi L. Wagner and her husband, Nathan, Katie A. Beam and her husband, Matt, Nicole S. Pelletier and her husband, Bobby, Anthony M. Fazio, Kathleen A. Kelly, Alison S. Fazio, Adam R. Thornton, Matthew H. Stiles, his great-grandchildren; Rylee M. Wagner, Jared J. Pelletier, Corbin L. Beam, a sister, Catherine A. Soluri of Boynton Beach, FL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A sister, Maryann Fasulo, died earlier.
A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial with military honors will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Old Homestead Highway, Swanzey, NH. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
