Geraldine “Gerry” Phyllis (Peabody) Frye, born in Rochester, New Hampshire, on July 5, 1939, to Raymond B. Peabody and Carolyn (Hopkinson) Peabody, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026. She was predeceased by her brothers, “Brownie” and “Butch.” Her sister, June Beaulieu, resides in New Hampshire.
Gerry devoted her life to family, friendship, and service to others. Guided by her faith in God, she lived with grace, compassion, and a servant’s heart.
She and her former husband and lifelong friend, Richard Frye, raised four beloved children: Gordon Frye (Lisa), Thomas Frye, Laura Laltoo, and Deborah Williams (Barry).
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Steven Frye (Ali), Adam Frye (Jenny), Evan Frye, Jesse Blaschke (Thomas), Alex Meyers (Brad), Kelly McCoy, Emily Laltoo, Thomas Williams (Megan), and Paul Williams. Gerry was also blessed with nine cherished great-grandchildren and looked forward with great joy to welcoming two more.
Gerry took great pride in her family’s connection to the historic Peabody Heel Company and treasured the stories and traditions passed down through generations. Some of her happiest memories were made during childhood summers at Camp Foss and the many summers spent at York Beach, Maine, with family - from time with her own grandmother to creating lasting memories with her great-grandchildren.
Kindness, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to helping others were reflected in every aspect of Gerry’s life.
She gave many years of volunteer service to the American Red Cross and touched countless lives through her work and leadership as Activities Director at Maplewood and Castle Center. She also found joy and companionship through the Silver Saints and Red Hats communities.
Above all, Gerry will be remembered for her warm heart, welcoming spirit, and deep love for family and friends. Whether sharing a laugh, enjoying a dance, offering support, or heading out with fresh lipstick and a smile, she brought warmth and light wherever she went.
Services will be held at the Sturtevant Chapel, 15 Washington Street, Keene, NH at a date and time to be announced.
