He was born in Brattleboro, Vermont, to Leslie Oliver Wood and Olive Ellen Jensen. Gordon was predeceased by his beloved wife, Donna Ellen Wood (Sweeney); his brother, Walter Wood; and his parents.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Vicki Wyman, and her husband, Scott Wyman; his son, Shawn; his grandchildren, Amanda Cheever and her husband, Emeit, and Rylee Moxham; and his great-grandchildren, Kinley and Kallen Cheever.
Gordon found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved dog and horse races, fishing, and spending time outdoors, often puttering around his yard. A daily cup of coffee shared with his long time friend, Ed, was one of his most cherished routines.
He dedicated over 40 years of hard work to National Grange Mutual Insurance, where he built a long and steady career.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
