He was born on December 29, 2003 in Keene, the son of Scott and Abbie (Pratt) White. He had just entered his Freshman year at Hinsdale High School where he was continuing to be a shining star, A+ student. He was involved in activities at the Community Church in West Swanzey.
Ira was wise beyond his years and known for always being helpful to those in need. Anyone who met him was fond of the young man he was becoming. Ira had a great artistic ability in crafting handmade jewelry and wood crafted gifts. He was gifted in piano playing. Ira enjoyed literature and writing of his own as an outlet. Ira’s love for the outdoors was apparent in his interest in hunting and fishing. He was a wonderful brother who engaged by bonding over board games and video games.
Ira had two favorite quotes from author J.R.R.Tolkien, "Not all who wander are lost." and "If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, the world would be a merrier world."
Ira’s beautiful smile and brilliant personality will be forever missed by his loving parents: Abbie and Scott White of Hinsdale; brother: Elijah White of Hinsdale; maternal grandmother: Judy Duquette of Winchester; paternal grandparents: Vicki White of Keene, and Vernon White and his wife Vikki of Marlborough; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His maternal grandfather, Alan Pratt, died earlier.
A celebration of Ira’s life will be held at a later date.
