Irene Nelson Koski

Irene Nelson Koski, 93, of Keene died Aug. 13, 2014, at Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health.

She was born in Fitchburg, MA, on December 18, 1920 to Peter and Hilma (Anderson) Nelson.

Mrs. Koski graduate from Keene Teachers College (now Keene State) and received her Master’s in Education from the University of New Hampshire. She worked as a teacher in various school districts.

She married Andrew Koski, Jr. in July of 1946 in Troy, NH and relocated to Aguirre, Puerto Rico where she was Principal of the Aguirre Private School. In 1970, Mrs. Koski and her family relocated back to the United States and lived in Florida and New Jersey before resettling on Elm Street in Keene in 1984.

Mrs. Koski was active in the New Hampshire Retired Teachers Association and served as Secretary for many years. Throughout her life she enjoyed an active lifestyle including golf and hiking. In her retirement, Mrs. Koski enjoyed travelling and visited China, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Russia and South America. In addition, she greatly enjoyed visiting with her two granddaughters.

Mrs. Koski is survived her caring son Andrew B. Koski and daughter-in–law Corinne M. Bourdeau-Koski of Pacific Palisades, CA; her daughter Linda I. Koski-Lee and son-in-law Kang Lee; and two loving grandchildren Dominique Koski and Michaela Koski both of Pacific Palisades, CA. She is predeceased by her husband Andrew Koski, Jr.

At the family’s request, there are no calling hours or public services.
