He was born in Keene, September 29, 1951, the son of James A. and Dorothy V. (Guilbeault) Ingalls Sr., and had lived in the Keene area prior to moving to Marlow twenty years ago.
Mr. Ingalls graduated from Keene High School, class of 1969. Soon after his graduation, he enlisted in the Army. During his service in the Army, he proudly served as an Engineer in a Combat Line Unit during the Vietnam War as a member of the 589th Engineer Battalion, Company D, in Vietnam for his tour of duty operating heavy equipment in a combat setting.
Jim had been employed for several years as an underground gas line construction foreman with the Keene Gas Company.
He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #799 in Keene for the last forty years, becoming a lifetime member several years ago. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to go hunting and fishing, working on his land in Marlow with his tractor and chainsaw, and just being around his house and property where he had a view of the hills. His biggest love of all was that of his family and being able to get together on Sundays for dinner with the whole family.
Jim will be remembered as a strong and courageous man that never gave up. He was always there to help a friend in need and would do anything for his family. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife of forty years: Sally (Sliva) Ingalls of Marlow, his daughters: Heidi Chevalier and her husband Rich of Marlow, and Jaime Ingalls and her wife Marianthe of Langdon, his sisters: Joanne Fujio of Seattle, Washington, and Shirley Ingalls of Keene, his three grandchildren: Ashley Chevalier, Jimmy Chevalier and Sally Rose Ingalls, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
