She was born, in Keene, NH, on July 19, 1943, daughter of Walter and Stella (Boudrieau) Boyea.
She attended area schools, graduating from Keene High School with the class of 1961. Mrs. Morse worked for the Markem Corporation for more than 25 years as a Quality Control Officer. While at Markem, she met her future husband, Douglas B. Morse. They were married in Keene, on June 30, 1962, at the Keene Lutheran Church. Janet was a loving wife and wonderful partner to Doug. Janet and Doug called Harrisville their home and raised a beautiful family together.
Mrs. Morse was well known throughout New England, for her expert marksmanship. She loved target shooting and often competed against the very best, championing her skills as a sharp shooter. Known as “Little Sure Shot,” to those in the shooting circles, she won many matches and was a master with a muzzle loader. She was the N.H., Mass. and New England women’s muzzle loading rifle champion and was nationally ranked 8th in the NMLRA (National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association). Mrs. Morse was on the Women’s Auxiliary Team of the Harrisville Fire Department, and a Member of SME “Society of Manufacturing Engineers”. She was described as inspirational by her children, and one of her daughters only wished they could be “half the women she was.” Her sister, Linda said that Janet had such love for her sister and her mother. Linda called her sister a beautiful butterfly and she now has flown to be with her mother who would be waiting with open arms.
Mrs. Morse loved her family, enjoyed traveling with her husband, kayaking, and was proud of her accomplishment in hiking the length of the Monadnock - Sunapee Trail. She was also known for her cooking; especially those homemade donuts and homemade macaroni and cheese which were favorites to many. She loved making crafts and enjoyed working in her greenhouse and gardening.
She is survived by her husband: Douglas B.
