

She was born in Ashuelot on April 12, 1926, the daughter of Leonard F. and Veronica (Dubriski) Mahoney, Sr. She grew up in Winchester and was a graduate of Thayer High School.
On October 8, 1949, she married Philip C. Johnson in Keene.
Janette worked for several area businesses including Kulicks, Homestead Woolen Milles, OK Fairbanks and Markem Corporation, where she worked for 17 years before retiring.
Janette enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, quilting, weaving and any other crafts involving a needle and thread. She had many memories and stories of her childhood and enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Spirit.
She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Leahy and husband Robert Leahy of Marlborough; grandsons Kevin Leahy and wife Angela of Cambridge, MA, Brendan Leahy and girlfriend Juliane Santos, of Lowell, MA and Daniel Leahy of Lowell, MA; brothers Richard Mahoney and wife Anne of Seabrook, and Daniel Mahoney and wife Anna, of Hinsdale; and her sister Catherine “Kay” Mahoney of E. Derry.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip C. Johnson who passed in 1994, her youngest daughter, Janice K. Johnson, who died in 1998 and her brothers Leonard F. Mahoney, Jr. and Raymond Mahoney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Janette on Tuesday, March 4th, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene, NH. Burial will follow at Monadnock View Cemetery. Calling hours will be held the night before, Monday March 3rd, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Fletcher Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Janette Johnson’s name to the Monadnock Area Artist Association, PO Box 864, Keene, NH 03431.
