

She was born on November 9, 1947 in Greenfield, MA to Isabel and Arthur Flagg of Leyden, MA. Janice graduated from Pioneer Valley Regional High School in 1964.
She married and had 4 children and truly loved being a mother and grandmother. She worked, raising her family, and also creating resumes, writing part time and taking photographs for local newspapers. She subsequently began substitute teaching at Mt. Ceasar School in Swanzey and decided to get her teaching degree. She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude and on the Dean’s List from Keene State College in her 40s. She did all this while simultaneously working and raising her four children. She was active in town politics with regard to voting rights, which was very important to her. She was also involved in community activities including Localvore.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth R. Sevene, a daughter, Sandra L. Hamlin and her husband Gary of Keene, her sons, Jeffrey F. Sevene of Swanzey, Charles R. Sevene of Winchester and Jason A. Sevene of Swanzey, four grandchildren, Hailey Sevene, Jaxon Sevene, Carson Sevene and Carly Sevene, her brother, Raymond Flagg and his wife Liz of Washington state, her nephews Ed Flagg and his wife Kim of Pennsylvania, and Mark Flagg of Washington state, her niece Jennifer Walton and her husband John of Virginia. She was pre-deceased by her brother Edwin Flagg of Erving, MA.
A celebration of life for Janice will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Tempesta's Restaurant, 401 Winchester Street, Keene.
