Jeanie M. (Ramsey) Hickox

Jeanie M. (Ramsey) Hickox, of Marlborough, NH, passed away on July 16th. She was born on January 23, 1944, the eleventh of twelve children born to George Ramsey and Sarah (Wood) Ramsey. She was raised in Walpole, NH, and graduated from Walpole High School, Class of 1962.

On October 23, 1965, Jeanie married Leo K. Hickox, who predeceased her in 2010. Together they made their home in Marlborough, NH, for over 60 years.

A lifelong Red Sox fan, Jeanie loved sports of all kinds and cheered on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in whatever they played. She was always the volunteer, giving her time to the PTO, Scouting as a Den Mother, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the Evening United Group, and always the one to bring food for any event. Known to many as "Grammie Jean," she was beloved for her cupcakes, cookies, and lasagna, and for a deep love of family.

Jeanie is survived by her children: Aaron Hickox (wife Nancy) of Jaffrey; Cynthia Stone (husband Scott) of Harrisville; and Heather Hector of Jaffrey.

She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Nikole Huard (husband Jesse) of Harrisville; Jocelyn Tewksbury (husband Riley) of Shelton, CT; Jakob Stone (husband Rowan) of Keene, NH; Bethany Hector of Brighton, MA; and Bradley Hector of Jaffrey, along with her great-grandchildren, Kale and Makenna Huard.

Jeanie was predeceased by her husband, Leo K. Hickox. She is also remembered by her siblings: Phebe Thurston of Southbury, CT; John Ramsey of Waterbury, CT; Mildred Ball of Swanzey, NH; David Ramsey of Drewsville, NH; and Velma Roy of Jaffrey, NH; along with her sister-in-law, Mildred Ramsey of Westmoreland, NH.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, August 7th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the DiLuzio Foley and Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro St, Keene, NH 03431. A service will follow the next day at 11:00 AM at the Federated Church of Marlborough, 16 Pleasant St, Marlborough, NH 03455. A graveside committal will follow.
