She was born January 20, 1954 in Bangor, Maine, with her identical twin sister: Jeannine. The family moved to Keene when she was a young woman and she became very connected to the community. For many years she worked as a LNA at Genesis Nursing Home and Crochet Mountain Rehabilitation Center. Caring for the elderly and people with disabilities was something that she was passionate about and that brought her a great deal of joy. She also worked for many years as the “donut maker” for High Hope Farm and later worked in the Bakery at Haniford in Keene.
Jeannette was also very active in the American Legion in Marlborough and served in leadership there for many years. Even after the Post closed she would still attend events and was proud to help the veterans in her community. She was always willing to help others who were in need and she put the needs of others before herself. Compassion was something that she shared freely and openly with others, even four-legged companions that she had over the years. She was an avid animal lover. Above all, Jeannette loved being with her family, especially trips to the coast with her sister.
She is survived by her daughter: Jennifer Promploy and her husband Nuttapon of Keene; two grandchildren, Skylar and Oliver; her sisters, Jeannine Agard of Keene, Kimberly Boyle of Winchester and Laura Lee Isom of Tennessee; her brother, Russell Harrington and his wife, Cindy, of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Martha (Shirland) Harrington.
A Celebration of Jeannette’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 3 to 5pm at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St. Keene, NH.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Rd, Swanzey, NH. 03446.
