She was born on October 27, 1933 in Brattleboro, VT, the daughter of Isabel (Green) and Anthony Belluscio. She attended area schools and graduated from Keene High School. She lived most of her adult life in Springfield, MA, where she raised four children.
As a single parent, Joan was an extremely hard worker, and often held two jobs. She was employed by Sweet Life, a food distributor in Connecticut, and by Wells Fargo prior to her retirement.
Joan had many friends and demonstrated compassion by helping them as well as the disadvantaged and would often put their needs ahead of her own. She also volunteered for a month at a hospital in St. Lucia where she worked with an ophthalmologist. Traveling was something Joan greatly enjoyed. She especially liked to visit Martha’s Vinyard and Hampton Beach. Joan liked spending time with her family and enjoyed holiday gatherings. She would spend her time alone curling up with a good mystery novel or relaxing by putting together jigsaw puzzles. She was also very talented with sewing, knitting, and needlework.
Joan will be dearly missed by her children: Rosamond Everard of Rocky Hill, CT, James Everard and his wife Melanie of Marlborough, NH, and Douglas Tutt and his wife Karina of Chicago, IL; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers: Paul Belluscio of Galveston, TX, David Belluscio and his wife Sally of Acworth, NH, and Mark Belluscio and his wife Thelma of Keene, NH; dear friend: Jeanine Aoude of Boston, MA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
She is predeceased by her son, Michael Everard, and sister, Ann Belluscio.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00 am at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joan B. Everard’s name to Dakin Humane Society, P.O. Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101 (www.dakinhumane.org).
