He was born April 30, 1938 in Monson, MA the son of Antonio and Catherine (Shae) Alonzo. Jack proudly served our Nation as a member of the United States Air Force. During his time in the military he worked as a cook. On September 8, 1979 he married the love of his life: June Lynch.
For many years he worked at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene. Jack enjoyed being out in nature: hunting, fishing and playing golf were some of his favorite past-times. He also enjoyed watching sporting events and was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed the Greenbay Packers as well.
Over the past several years he and his wife had found a welcoming community at the Page Estates in Swanzey. There Jack was able to make friends and participate in group activities. He was well known for his calling at Bingo.
He is survived by his wife June of Swanzey, two sons: Paul Stearns and his companion Terri of Munson, MA and Bruce Stearns and his wife Donna of Holland, MA, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is predeceased by two brothers and a sister and his nephew: Michael.
Jack will be remembered in a Celebration of his Life at the First Congregational Church of Swanzey, Old Homestead Hwy, in the Spring of 2019. Jack will be laid to rest among those who have proudly served our Nation at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH. These committal services will be private.
