
He was born in West Swanzey, NH, January 16, 1927, the son of James P. and Anna J. (Finn) Hanrahan.
Mr. Hanrahan was a Navy seaman second class serving during World War II.
Following his military obligations, he worked for 30years as a weaver at the former Homestead Woolen Mills in West Swanzey. He later worked for four years with the MacMillin Company in Keene. Following his retirement, he worked as a security guard with MPB Corporation in Keene.
He is survived by two sons; John C. Hanrahan of Keene, Kevin J. Hanrahan, who was his caregiver for the past 15 years, and his significant other, Jeannine Lawson, of Swanzey, NH, three grandchildren; Elizabeth Marcotte of Bellows Fall, VT, Courtney Hanrahan of Mass., Chelsea Hanrahan of Concord, NH, and four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Putnam) Hanrahan in 1998, a daughter, Maureen Marcotte, a son, Steven A. Hanrahan, two brothers; James Hanrahan and Robert Hanrahan, and a sister, Kathleen Evans.
Funeral services and burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Keene, will be private.
The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
