Born in New Ipswich, NH, June 29, 1920, he was the son of Albert and Helen (Bernier) Bruno.
He married Priscilla D. Barnard on January 31, 1953 at the Court St. Congregational Church in Keene.
Mr. Bruno was a Veteran of WWII having served over 20 years in the US Army. Retiring as Sergeant, he was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal with two bronze loops, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one silver service star, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
He was retired from the Keene Sentinel as a pressman.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #11 in Jaffrey; a former member of the Keene Sno-Riders and attended United Church of Christ in Keene.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Priscilla D. Bruno of Keene; his daughter: Debra L. Ball and her husband, Robert of Westmoreland; his grandchildren: Brandon Richard Dean and Sara Christine Ball; his great granddaughters: Katherine Johanna Dean and Zoe Violet Skye Dean; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son: Steven Barnard Bruno; his brother: Albert Bruno; his sisters: Theresa Pickard and Rita Duval; and his close friend, whom he considered a son: John Alan Dean of Surry.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, November 25, 2013 at Fletcher Funeral Home and Cremation Services (www.fletcherfuneralhome.com), 33 Marlboro St. Keene. Interment will follow at Monadnock View Cemetery, Keene. There will be no public calling hours.
