Kenneth Emilo Cavadini
June 22, 1922 – March 27, 2017
Kenneth E. Cavadini, 94, of Surry, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 27, 2017 at Westwood Center in Keene.
He was born Jun 22, 1922 in New Haven, CT, son of Louise (Cavadini) Anderson. He was a student at area schools and was an attendee of the Connecticut Conservation Camp. Upon graduation he undertook training in sheet metal fabrication before joining the United States Navy. Ken proudly served our country as a Seabee, operating heavy equipment. In December of 1945 he was honorably discharged from his position of Machinist’s Mate Second Class. Following the service, Ken went back to New Haven and ran a chicken farm that sold products to Hubbard Farm in Walpole, NH.
In 1946 he married the love of his life, Evelyn W. Mariano.
Ken moved to Fitzwilliam in 1961. Putting his sheet metal knowledge to good use, he created ArtCraft in Fitzwilliam with business partner Malcolm “Mack” MacKenzie. Together they operated their signage company for nearly 30 years.
Ken was a charter member of the Gap Mountain Lions Club in Fitzwilliam. He was an avid moose hunter and deep sea fisherman. Above all else, Ken was a family oriented man and helped created many memories at the family summer cottage on Laurel Lake. Cook outs were held every weekend where family and friends would come together to play water sports, enjoy picnics, and cherish each other’s company, gathering around the marble fire pit.
Ken will be greatly missed by his wife of over 71 years: Evelyn W. Cavadini of Surry; son: Terry Cavadini and his wife Carolyn of Troy; grandchildren: Stephen Cavadini and his wife Denene of Keene, Todd Cavadini and his wife Julie of Troy, Heather Guiguere of MA, and Donald Guiguere of MA; step-granddaughters: Cari Coates and her husband Chris of Keene, Cathy Watson and her husband Jeff of Westmoreland, and Christine Fowler of Dover; great-grandchildren: Savannah, Joseph, Michael, Cori, and Josh; step-great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Ali, Sarah, Adam, and Hannah; and sisters: Lorraine Velardi of Hamden, CT and Marilyn O’Donnell of Hamden, CT. He was predeceased by a daughter Gail Fields in 2001.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the family lot at Surry Village Cemetery at a later date.

With loving thanks for years of trips to New Hampshire, and all of the good
memories of our visits -- the huge gardens, "Hamburger", hunting, the
lake, and finally to Surry.
Sister, Lorraine, and nephew, Chris.
