LaVerne C. Kunze

She was born on April 25, 1927 in Princeton, WV to the late George Elliott and Mamie Virginia (Smith) Cunningham. She graduated from Princeton High School, class of 1945 and attended Washington Missionary College in Takoma, MD in 1948

LaVerne married Ingmar (John) Kunze on June 20, 1954 in Takoma Park, MD.

She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.

She worked as the secretary at the General Conference for the 7th Day Adventist in Takoma Park, MD as well as for the President of Washington Missionary College prior to coming to Keene in 1954.

In Keene she worked at Peerless Insurance Co., served as the secretary for Attorney Arwe and as the secretary for the family run Kunze Landscaping Service. She was also the secretary of the Pathology Department at Elliott Community Hospital. She was the owner of LaVerne’s Flowers in Keene.

LaVerne was a talented musician, having performed as a first chair, second violinist for the Apple Hill Orchestra, along with others.

She had a love for people and flowers, and surrounded herself with both.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years: Ingmar J. Kunze of Keene; two sons: John E. Kunze of Manchester and Steven G. Kunze and his wife, Shelley of Keene; a daughter: Susan Kunze-Hoyle and her husband, Robert of Titusville, FL; two grandchildren: Johanna Kunze of Palm Bay, FL and Taylor Kunze of Keene; a brother: Nolan Cunningham of Miami FL; a sister: Dr. Alice Cunningham of Brunswick, ME; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the 7th Day Adventist Church.
