Lester Morton Cleveland Jr.

His parents, Helen (Niskanen) and Lester M. Cleveland, Sr., welcomed their son into the world on May 29, 1945, in Keene, NH. Lester attended local schools and was a graduate of the first graduating class of the Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey, NH, in 1963.

Lester resided in Surry, NH for over 30 years, moving to Keene and later Westmoreland, NH.

He worked for forty years as the coordinator and later floor supervisor with the Al Melanson Sheet Metal Company in Keene.

Lester took great pride in caring for his home and yard. He also enjoyed small engine repairs and taking something old and making it new. As a volunteer at the Keene Center, Lester devoted many hours to landscaping, and he was recognized for his efforts by the staff.

He loved birds with Robins being his favorite species. Every spring he would patiently search for the first Robin sighting of the season.

His favorite times were those spent creating many special memories with his family.

He will be greatly missed by many especially his wife of 62 years, Linda (Caldwell) Cleveland of Keene; his children, Laura Glover of Keene and her partner Steven Myre of Harrisville, NH, Lance Cleveland and his wife, Rebecca of Westmoreland; his grandchildren Ryan Glover and his wife Nicole, Stacy O’Brien and her husband Byron, Zackary Cleveland and his wife Jennifer, Nathan Cleveland, Isaac Cleveland and his wife Faith; his great-grandchildren Brook Glover, Lexi Glover, Alyssa Cleveland, Weston Cleveland; a sister-in-law Jerri Zinn of Manchester, NH; and a niece Heidi Zinn Carrigan of Manchester, NH. A brother-in-law Fred Zinn Sr., and a nephew Fred Zinn, Jr. predeceased him.

A celebration of life for Lester will be held at a date and time to be announced.
