She was born the daughter of Marcellus Howe Sr. and Mary (Duso) Howe on February 18, 1949, in Brattleboro, VT. She grew up in Hinsdale, NH and attended local schools, graduating in 1967. After graduation, she worked for a short time at the New England Telephone Company, in Brattleboro, VT, before leaving to start her family.
In 1968 she married Harold (Moe) Secord at the Federated Church in Winchester, NH, with many friends and family in attendance, and after living briefly in Hinsdale moved to Winchester.
She was the proud mother of two sons, Michael (Mick) and John Secord. Her children were her life, and she cherished all the special times she spent with them. She enjoyed attending all her son’s sporting events. She also enjoyed making special memories with her grandchildren, doing crafts, cooking, and just enjoying each of their company.
In 1980, she began working at Douglas Toy Company as a hand embroiderer and remained there until her retirement. She made many long-time friendships with the people there. She enjoyed going on trips to Maine every year and a special road trip to Oklahoma to see friends, along with all the backroad adventures with her husband. She loved to cook and enjoyed sharing with others, leading to many special holiday times with family and friends.
In her own words, “God gave me all the best and I was so very blessed and thankful for a long and wonderful life”.
She was a member of the Northfield Baptist Church, Northfield MA, for over 50 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, father Marcellus Howe Sr., and stepmother Barbara; her mother Mary Wallen and stepfather Walter; a brother Marcellus Howe Jr.; stepsiblings, and many aunts, uncles, and other family members.
