

She was born in Hamlin, NY, on December 17, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Ella (Lotzow) Klafehn. She graduated from Brockport Central High School in 1942.
She married Melvin H. Reid in a ceremony held in Hamlin, NY on May 15, 1948. They lived in Brockport until 1959 when they relocated to Concord, NH and to Keene, NH in 1972.
Loraine worked at various stores in Keene including Goodnows, Clay’s, and most recently Cards of Joy. She also volunteered at the Cheshire Medical Center.
Loraine enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach with her husband. Her true passion was her family and she was especially fond of her grand and great-grandchildren. Loraine was known for being very tidy and for her cooking and baking skills. No one could make a grilled cheese quite like Loraine; they will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter: Barbara Page and her husband Wesley of Keene; three grandchildren: Christopher Page and his wife Rachel of Keene, Aaron Page of Keene, and Collin Page and his wife Kelsey of Keene; two great-grandchildren: Kayla Page and Rylee Page; a brother: Ray Klafehn and his wife Elaine of Rochester, NY; a sister-in-law: Joanne Klafehn of Hilton, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends at Bentley Commons at Keene. She is predeceased by her husband Melvin H. Reid with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death in 2007, and two brothers Glenn Klafehn and Harold Klafehn.
An hour of visitation will be held for Mrs. Reid at Fletcher Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, January 5, 2015 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made, in Mrs. Loraine A. Reid’s name, to the Activity Fund at Bentley Commons at Keene, 197 Water Street, Keene, NH 03431.
