

Lord ‘Alan’ Antanaitis passed away on December 24, 2024, at age 77. He was born in Lancaster, NH on October 5, 1947, and graduated from White Mountains Regional School District in June of 1965, having served for four years in activities such as Senior Play, an editor of the Whitefielian and Pirate Press and active in the Art Club.
Just two weeks after graduation, Lord left his hometown of Littleton, NH to join the United States Army. His tour of duty included serving in the Vietnam War.
He was honorably discharged, as a Private, in June of 1971.
He served in Vietnam and was very proud to have served his country even though he became a disabled veteran. On returning to civilian life, Lord pursued a career in Art and attended the New England School of Art in Boston, MA, graduating in May 1975. He also continued to enjoy and expand on his hobby as a photographer, becoming recognized by the Cheshire County Equine groups for his exceptional photography of horses and riders. He became a Freelance Photographer for the Equine publication attending hundreds of horse shows and competitions in New England. The Horsemen’s Yankee-Pedlar Equine Monthly published his collage of twelve photos of the New England Paint Horse Club’s Early Spring 1998 Show.
He pursued his love of nature, fishing and caring for horses and painting.
Along with his sister, Patricia A. Mason, who predeceased him, with whom he resided with for the latter part of their lives in Winchester, New Hampshire, before both becoming residents at the Westwood/Alpine Center in Keene; they both were laid to rest in the Cushman Cemetery in Dalton NH near their parents, William and Dorothy Smith Antanaitis on July 1, 2025. Lord A. Antanaitis received Military Honors at the graveside service.
