Her parents, George J. and Hermina (Joyal) LaBrie welcomed their daughter into the world on December 16, 1928, in Keene, NH. Lorraine was a 1946 graduate of Keene High School.
She resided in Keene for most of her life, moving to Troy seven years ago. She loved her role as a mother and was very active in the school activities of her children. She returned to the workplace later and spent many years at the former Medical Hall in Keene. She fondly remembered her time there and enjoyed the friendships she formed with many of her customers.
Lorraine loved taking daily walks with her dog, ones that you could set your watch to. She walked many miles with her dog Riley and had great visits with the people she met along the way. She looked forward to her time with her son David and prior to her moving to Troy, they would get together every morning at 10:00 to have a cup of tea. Her daughters Kathie and Marci would check in later in the day with a visit or a phone call. Her family and her pets were very important in her life, and she loved the moments they spent together. Many wonderful hours were spent relaxing on the front porch with a coffee, a good book, and a dog by her side.
She will be greatly missed by many, especially her children, her son David L. Conant of Keene; her two daughters, Marcia J. "Marci" Conant of Troy, Kathie Coonrod of Fayetteville, NC; and five grandchildren, Michael Conant, Eric Conant, Mandy Conant, Jason Brown, Chris Brown; along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Irene Underwood predeceased her.
Services and burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Keene, will be held privately by the family.
For those who wish, donations may be made in Mrs. Conant’s memory to the Troy-Fitzwilliam Ambulance Service, PO Box 725, Fitzwilliam, NH 03447.
