Marilyn H Johnson

Marilyn was born in New Britain, CT., on October 23, 1923, the daughter of Edwin and Axcelia Johnson. As a young girl, she moved from New Britain, CT to Keene, NH. She lived at the Riverside Farm, which is now known as Bretwood Golf Course.

She graduated from Keene High School in 1941. Marilyn worked in many companies as a secretary, most recently for the Keene School District as the Business Manager’s Secretary.

She was the proud wife of Stanley Adams Johnson, who died March 1, 2005. They were happily married for 58 years. She whole heartedly supported her husband throughout his career in the Masonic Lodge.

Marilyn was an avid reader, who routinely went to the Keene Public Library for many years. She followed local sports, and of course, the Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox. She truly enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sports activities. She loved the “Black Friday“ shopping trips to Boston with her daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters.

Survivors include her two children: Thomas Johnson, and his wife Terri, of Keene, and Ellen Jernberg, and her husband Ralph, of Gilsum; her grandchildren: Sarah Johnson and Daniel Castor of Newmarket, Michael and Kristie Johnson of Westmoreland, Joshua and Taryn Johnson of New London, Brian Johnson of Keene, Erin Pearson and her fiancé Sean Gardener of Virginia Beach, Lindsey and Kevin Ellis of Gilsum, and Melanie Jernberg and her boyfriend Ross Ramsey of Alstead; her great-grandchildren: Samuel Castor, Ava Johnson, Mason Johnson, Jillian and Jackson Ellis.

The family would like to thank Genevieve Drevet, Hospice Nurse, of HCS, Keene office for compassionate end of life care.

Services will be private, per the framilies request. There will be no public calling hours.
