She was born on March 18, 1942 to Walter Boucher & Alice (Warriner) Boucher in Northampton, MA.
Growing up in Haydenville MA, her 1st job as a child was picking tobacco at local farms. Mandy, as she was called by her brothers Walter and Steve, was adventurous. She loved riding tractors, bikes, playing outdoors, fishing, and playing with her brothers and pet cats and dogs. She graduated from Williamsburg HS.
In 1960, Marilyn married Robert E Bartlett, living and raising their 4 children in Worthington, MA. She was an amazing cook, teaching her kids everything she knew. Her donuts and pies were known all over the Hilltowns. She loved to garden, canning and freezing everything they grew each summer. She worked with Bobby as a carpenter and painter once their kids were all in school. They loved to snowmobile, ballroom dance, spend summers and falls at the family camp in Pittsfield, VT, playing scrabble with her best friend Pearl, cook at Rod and Gun Club events, helping to cook big family dinners every Sunday and holiday as well as family picnics in the summer, and traveling with the family, taking many trips down south and across the country, to see other family members and to see her brother Steve at Fort Knox, on his return from Vietnam.
In the late 80’s, Marilyn worked at Northampton Studios, Florence, MA, making beautiful, unique, custom brass, silver and wooden Kaleidoscopes. She later was employed as a cook by and retired from Hampshire Care Facility in Leeds MA.
In 1990, she married Clyde Joseph Sanger Jr. at their home in Winchester NH. Her life with Clyde was filled with their families, traveling for vacation and business trips with Clyde in his tractor trailer truck. They loved their little home with all its flowers, wildlife and variety of birds. They sat outside as weather permitted; doing puzzles inside on days that were not so beautiful. Her greatest wish was to live out her life in her own home. She lived every day by her own terms, knowing in the end, she would spend eternity in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Marilyn was reunited with her husband Clyde on his birthday.
Mandy will be missed by her loving family, children, Brenda (William) Arnold, Carol Bartlett, Jeffery (Lisa) Bartlett, Ellen (Raymond) Laroche; stepchildren, Sylvia (Michael) Jennings, Clyde (Patti) Sanger III; grandchildren Bethany, Christopher, Michelle (Matt), Jacob, Aimee (Joe), Sarah (Peter) Nick, Emily, Kimberly, Ashley (Ryan), Samantha and Ryan; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Walter Boucher; sisters-in-law, Joyce Boucher, Jane Bardwell, Bonnie Borst (Tom), Dick and Ann Bartlett; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Walter and Alice; her husbands Clyde and Robert; her brother and sister-in-law, Steve & Lilia Warriner; and her stepdaughter, Teresa Brakey
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Northampton Country Club, 135 Main St, Leeds MA.
