Her parents, William and Mary (Fitzpatrick) Hogancamp welcomed their daughter into the world on June 11, 1930, in Pittsfield, MA. She grew up in Northampton, MA and was a graduate of Northampton High School.
A resident of Keene for the past 25 years, Mary worked in several different roles including that of a cashier, a switchboard operator, and later in security and support staff with the Brattleboro (VT) Retreat for thirteen years.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Betancourt of Pawcatuck, CT; and her many friends from her apartment complex at 21 Roxbury Plaza. Her husband of 17 years, Harold Carroll, died in 2014.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 10:30am to 12:00pm at the Salvation Army Corps Worship and Service Center, 15 Roxbury Plaza, Keene. All are welcome to attend.
