Her journey began December 14, 1947 in Berlin, NH, born the daughter of Fred J. and Lena (Filgate) Morris. Mary devoted her life to caring for others, through her many years as a stay at home Mom and then working in the fields of healthcare and customer service.
Creativity, compassion, enthusiasm and devotion were some of her most admirable qualities. Her creativity was shown through the knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting that she did, as well as the various paintings which she crafted over the years. One of her very first paintings won the 1st Prize Blue ribbon at the Cheshire Fair. Her home was often filled with the aroma of homemade breads, cookies, cakes and the other delicious foods that she loved to make for her family. Being with her children and grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. Her compassion spread not only to her family and friends but also to the many pets which she opened her home to over the years. Each part of life’s journey brought her closer to her Lord. She was a member of the Chapel by the lake in Nelson, where she worshiped often.
She was also active in the lives of her grandchildren and was a volunteer with her granddaughter’s girl scout troop for many years. She also graciously donated hundreds of quilts and pillow cases to various organizations which help both children and adults with cancer, including: Shriner’s Hospital, Southwestern Community Services of Keene, CONKERR and Project Linus.
She was a devoted spouse to three special men in her life: Thomas Roy, the father of her children and William Puza and John Wheeler, both of which she cared for in their final days of life.
She is survived by three daughters: Kathleen Richards and her husband David of Keene, Joelle Eldredge of Nashua, NH and Heather Eakin of Keene, four grandchildren: Alexandru, Eddie, Thomas and Emily, her brother: Wayne Morris and his wife Kathy of Berlin, NH and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is also survived by her first husband : Thomas Roy of Keene and the families of William Puza and John Wheeler,
