I met mike when I moved to nh in 1995. We were great friends and enjoyed each others company. I really loved him so much! I was with him the day before his death as we traveled to Vermont and had lunch. It was a good day. Getting the call the following day of his demise was devestating. I still morn for him and think I see his car everywhere I go. I still haven't removed his pic n contact info from my cell but I know I need to. I miss you mike and I hope and pray for u daily that you're in a better place. I missed Jackson aka mikes dog when he passed and I really miss you! Play your guitar for the angels that you're chillin with now. I love you!!

I remember Mystic from when I stopped at the Sauffley's in Agua Dulce while I hiked the PCT. He was a lot of fun. I'm sad that he is gone.

Mystic and I hiked the whole John Muir trail together on the PCT. He stayed beside me and looked out for me the entire way. He was a loyal companion and friend, talented musician and full of enthusiasm, love and compassion. He enriched so many lives!!!! I will always remember him.

Like so many others I was lucky enough to hike with Mystic on the AT in 2006. When ever he was around the world seemed like a brighter place. He will be missed.

So Sorry for your loss and to hear this news. I hiked with Mike on the AT in 06 and in particular I have many great memories of times with him thru Maine as we were nearing the end of the trail. He was someone I was always happy to run into and spend time with. He was a truly kind person and an embodiment of the joy and good of the trail.
