She was born in Walpole, on January 31, 1924, the daughter of William Wallace and Mary Alice (Rogers) Warn. Mrs. Thompson attended local schools; graduating from Keene High School in 1942. She was a lifelong area resident.
She married Willard H. Thompson on October 4, 1947.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker. She also worked as an aide for Faith Christian School for both the pre-school and kindergarten classes.
Mrs. Thompson enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and for family gatherings. She was famous for her doughnuts. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and crocheting.
Mrs. Thompson always had a cheerful smile.
She is survived by her children Stephen Thompson, and wife Ann, of Hudson, John Thompson, and wife Linda, of Swanzey, Kathleen Brown, and husband Eddie, of Rochester, and Dorothy Woodbury of Keene; her grandchildren Michael Thompson of Keene, Jill O’Connell, and husband Joe, of Laconia, Deanna Howard, and husband John, of Swanzey, Hayley Dye, and husband Harrison, of Utah, Graham Thompson, and wife Stacey, of Merrimack, Bryant Thompson, and wife Heather, of Keene, Charles Martin, and wife Karen, of IN, Valerie Colburn of IN and Cindy Brumfield, and husband Mike, also of IN; six great grandchildren; and her sister Rachael Backman of Wyoming. Her husband Willard H. Thompson, brothers Richard and Benjamin Warn and sisters Sally Shemchuk and Lillian Pratt all died earlier.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, 1:00 PM, at Mountain View Cemetery on Rt. 32 in Swanzey. Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene ( www.fletcherfuneralhome.com ) have been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mrs. Molly W. Thompson’s name to The Carpenter Home, 1 Simeneau Lane, Swanzey, NH 03446.
