I was very sad to hear about Paul.  He was a dear friend of my father, Phil March, and their friendship started when they were in their early teens in Nashua.  The friendship endured and Paul often visited our home at 7 Hall Avenue where he often entertained us as only Paul could.  He was a very kind, thoughtful person and he was much beloved by the March family.  I had the good fortune to connect with Paul by phone several months ago and had planned on visiting him once the pandemic was under better control.  I am sad I was unable to see Paul in person one last time.  
My siblings (Jon and Betsey March) and I will miss Paul greatly.  My condolences to his loved ones.

It always brought a smile to Paul’s face to remember the day when our family of seven was packed and ready to drive back home to Maine after our vacation at Silver Lake, when we decided to take a final canoe ride first. Being his usual mischievous self, Paul picked me up and pretended to throw me in, when he suddenly lost his balance, and we all took a last swim instead! Many fond memories of this sweet and complicated man who cared for my grandparents in their later years. 

This is a photo of Paul and our 2year old son Jesse in the living room of the 1822 farmhouse we were renting in Rutland, Massachusetts in December 1972. My husband Richard (“Dick”) Clark was part of the Clark clan. The three of us had enjoyed meeting and getting to know Ethlyn White Clark when we moved back to New England in August 1972. Ethlyn was Jesse’s great grandmother. On Christmas Day 1972 Ethlyn rode down with Paul for Christmas dinner with us and to deliver a whizzy new Big Wheel for Jesse. By Callie Clark, a member of the Clark clan by marriage to Dick.

Paul was a wise, intelligent and caring person who gave many local families the opportunity to enjoy the Silver Lake campsites for many years. I am grateful to have know him. Bob Montbleau  

Paul was a kind & ecentric soul. I've known him my entire life. He gave my family a once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy living our summers on the beautiful Silver Lake in Nelson. As a child, at the lake, had an uncanny proclivity for visiting around dinner time, but always brought me small gifts he found here and there while he was out and about. We enjoyed many years by the lake hearing the stories he would tell. I will always look back with a fondness for him and the time we spent at the lake. May you rest in peace Paul. <3

Paul was a true character, one that is not often seen in the world today.   Hitchhiking well into his senior yrs often with a fishing pole and his backpack he would fill you in on any number of town and current affairs.   He enjoyed a spaghetti meal, told some stories and proceeded to fall asleep in his chair in our home one cold winter night.  He insisted on going home when he woke and so off we went to his trailer in the snow.   He was forever grateful to those who gave him the opportunity to listen to a story or two.
