Paula Louise Barrett

Her parents, Elmer and Alva (Patten) Keirstead welcomed their daughter into the world on July 9, 1941in Waltham MA. She grew up in Medfield, MA and was a graduate of Medfield High School. In 1973 she moved to Winchester, NH.

After moving to NH, Paula worked for many years at the Crystal Restaurant in Keene. When the Crystal closed, she worked at the Pub Restaurant where she retired after 28 years. She and her husband Larry were flea market enthusiasts. They loved a good bargain and would set up to resell at locations throughout NH, Massachusetts and Vermont.

She was a volunteer at The Community Kitchen in Keene for many years and was a past member of the Kiwanis Club. She loved her annual trips to Maine and enjoyed productions at the Ogunquit Playhouse.

She will be greatly missed by many, especially her four daughters, Margaret M. "Peggy" Higgins of Keene, Laura L. Aivaliotis and her husband Steven of Winchester, Pamela M. Strachan and her husband Douglas, of Fishers, IN, Kelly A. Alessi and her husband Michael, of The Villages, FL; her sister Joan Todd of Wrentham, MA; her grandchildren, Ronald Higgins and his wife Taylor, Rebecca Higgins, Sara Dingman and her husband Ed, Bethany Magoon and her husband Ross, Allison Murray and her husband Nick, Alethea Aivaliotis, Owen Aivaliotis, Kelsey Strachan, Kyle Strachan, Rachel Bemis, Christine Aguilar and her husband Isidro, Megan Bonilla and her husband Josh; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Lawrence C. Barrett, Jr., her sister Jean Knell, brother-in-law David Knell, brother-in-law Paul Todd and her grandson Steven Joseph Aivaliotis, predeceased her.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00am at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 11:00am. Burial with committal prayers will follow the service in the Woodland Cemetery, Keene.
