

She was born June 19, 1930, in Keene NH, the daughter of Lionel and Alice (Perry) Sherwin.
She spent her childhood growing up in Keene, and later moved to Hillsborough NH where she met and married the love of her life Robert Whitney in 1957.
Pauline and Robert began their lives together by saving enough money to build their own home by hand which they were very proud of.
She gave birth in 1958 to their only child and daughter, Kathleen Susanne Whitney (Suzie).
Pauline worked for Osram Sylvania for over 28 years as a machinist in Hillsborough which she retired from and was one of her greatest accomplishments.
She spent her later years of life living with her granddaughter and family which she was lovingly cared for, for many years.
Pauline was lifetime member of the Monadnock Dance Club as well as the Monadnock Senior Care Center in Jaffrey NH.
She was a friend to everyone she encountered and known throughout her community as " Gram". Pauline had a kind heart, a beautiful smile, and always had a sense of humor no matter what the circumstance. She was also courageous and strong.
Some of Pauline's favorite pastimes were kite flying, Hampton Beach, auctions, reminiscing, skiing, ice skating,dancing, singing, swimming, ice cream, coffee and watching the Ellen show.
She loved the family dog Dixie and cats Oscar and Cocoa.
Pauline was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
Above all things her greatest passion, pride, and joy in life was her 7 great granddaughters which she loved with every ounce of her heart.
Pauline will be missed very much, by so many. Her memories will live on through all the lives she touched, and her legacy will last forever with all of her great granddaughters.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Simarano and spouse Joseph of Leominster Mass, son in law Joseph Huot of Hancock NH, grandchildren Jason Simarano of Hollywood CA, Jessica Simarano and spouse Laura Bruno of Gilsum NH, Siobhan Charron and spouse Jeremy of Hancock NH, great grandchildren Angelina 11, Autumn 8, Addyson 7, Lillian 3, Josephine 3, Margaret born 9/8/14 and Aubrey born 10/13/14. She is also survived by her brothers William and Robert Sherwin and late wife Breda of Keene and sister Marlene Wyman and spouse Jake of Keene NH and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
She is pre deceased by her husband Robert Whitney, parents Lionel and Alice Sherwin and sisters Winnie and Marjorie.
Graveside burial to be held at Butler Cemetery in Deering NH on Saturday, October 25th at 10am. Chapel services to follow at 11am in Hancock at the Hancock Congregational Church on Main Street with a celebration of life to follow at the Hancock vestry. Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH have been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Mrs. Pauline Whitney’s name to the Monadnock Adult Day Care, 22 North St., Jaffrey, NH 03452.
