

She was born on April 10, 1938 the daughter of Frank and Stella Zarnowski.
Phyllis fell in love with Michael White when he met her at a college dance. They have been married for fifty-four years.
She was a graduate of Manchester Central High School and Keene State College and became a teacher at the Westmoreland Elementary School and later at the Franklin School in Keene; she substituted in grades K through eight at all of the Keene Schools. She worked at Roussell’s of Keene; the Worth Company with Maria Temple of Keene. She became the first female Eucharistic Minister at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Keene where she was the church’s administrative secretary.
She loved the ocean and enjoyed visiting her home in Wells’ ME and the beach in St. Petersburg, FL. She loved the culture of Disney World, but was unable to work at Disney due to her health. Instead she was uniquely made an honorary cast member of Walt Disney World and was trained by her husband Michael.
In the last years while Phyllis was sick, she always delighted in others, and namely her husband who was by her side every day and night. She was predeceased by her son James who died in July 1990.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael, and her son Thomas White and his wife Jennifer of Keene, NH; her three precious grandsons; Chris Sundell (Thomaston, CT) Robin and Connor White (Keene); her sister Diane Hollingsworth (the Villages, FL), sister-in-law Paula Smart (Moultonborough, NH), and daughter-in-law Susan Sundell (Thomaston, CT).
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene, NH on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in the spring. There are no family visiting hours. Following the mass there will be a reception in the parish hall where family and friends will share their memories of Phyllis.
