

He was born in Keene, NH on December 12, 1931 the son of George and Evelyn (Martin) Lamoureux.
Ray was better known was “Whitey” by his friends and co-workers and state engineers.
He grew up in Keene and attended St. Joseph Parochial School and graduated from Keene High School class of 1950.
After graduation Ray joined the U.S. Marine Corp. and after boot camp he went to bulldozer school and then off to Korea for a year. Ray served honorably as a Sergeant with the Marine Corp for four years and was assigned to the Hdq. 8th Engineers Battalion at Camp Lejeune, NC.
He spent the next thirty-two years working for the Morrison Knudsen, Landers and Griffin, and Audley Construction Companies. He belonged to Local #4 Operating Engineers out of Boston, MA working on projects at the Pease Air Force Base, the St. Lawrence Seaway, and the Kangamangas Highway, all of the Interstate Highway Systems in New Hampshire and Vermont and many state roads and site work for Berkshire Builders out of Merrimack, NH. He also worked in Groton, CT for the US Navy at a building site for more than a year. Ray was noted as “The Miracle Man with a D-8 Bulldozer”.
Later on Ray went to work for the Cheshire Oil Company in Keene operating at the T-Bird Mini-Mart in Springfield, VT with his wife Cynthia. He retired from Cheshire Oil in 1991.
For the next 25 years Ray had four new homes built in open land where he could landscape, plant trees and shrubs and still have two more acres of beautiful green grass to mow. Loving every moment of the time he spent out-of-doors, being on a golf course made his day, and having a hole in one.
The last fifteen years was spent as a snow bird spending six month at his winter home in Summerfield, FL with his wife Cynthia and playing golf four times a week was wonderful.
He loved all animals and was a dog and cat lover and they were his friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia of Swanzey, NH; his daughter Susan and her husband Bill Beauregard of Spofford, NH; step-sons; John Emmond and his wife Robin of Sacramento, CA. Jim Emmond and his wife Michelle of Amherst, NH, Jeff Emmond and his wife Terri of North Haverhill, NH; Steven Robinson and his wife Patti of Suffolk, VA, Matthew Robinson and his wife Berdine of Keene, NH and his step-daughter Melanie Sterling and husband Joe of Temple, TX; one brother Leonard and his wife Nancy of Swanzey, NH; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Kenneth.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Bernard’s Church, 185 Main Street, Keene on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene, NH. There are no public visiting hours. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
