

He was born in New Britain, CT., on July 24, 1922, the son of Alfred and Clara (Paquette) Talbot. Mr. Talbot grew up in New Britain and during World War II he ran the family garage so his father could work as a machinist to support the war effort. After the war he returned to high school and finished his schooling.
After the war, his family moved to Troy, NH where he met Marie Marrotte. They married on August 22, 1947 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Troy. He worked for the Holstein-Friesian Association of America, now known as the Holstein Association USA, Inc. of Brattleboro VT, for 9 years, during which he went to night school to learn computer operations. He moved to West Dummerston, VT in 1961. In 1970 he began working in computer operations for The National Grange in Keene. He retired in 1981 after 11 years with the company. Shortly before retirement he moved from Dummerston, VT to his farm in Winchester. There, he was known for his abilities as a backyard mechanic. Though no longer an active dairy farm, he continued to bring in hay, with his son’s help, right up thru last season. He loved the outdoors and was an active hunter of deer, rabbit and turkey. Mr. Talbot also enjoyed weekly outings to local dances.
Mr. Talbot was a former member of the West Dummerston Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his children: Thomas Talbot and his wife Edith Fifield of Winchester, Bradley Talbot of Randolph Center, VT., and Marie Braden and her husband Robert of Hilton Head, SC.; three grandchildren: Michael Talbot and his wife Ann of Grand Isle, VT., Jessica Heinz and her husband Philip of E. Montpelier, VT., and Danielle Jeffcoat and her husband Trey of Hilton Head, SC.; a brother, Oral Talbot of CT and two sisters: Theresa Laporte of NC., and Rita Talbot of Walpole., a special friend and constant companion, Claire Hall of MA., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by Marie, his wife of 32 years, two brothers, Alfred Talbot and Norman Talbot, and a sister Shirley Talbot.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro St, Keene, NH (www.fletcherfuneralhome.com). Committal Services and private burial will take place in the Center Cemetery in Dummerston Center, VT. on Thursday at 10:00 am.
