His parents, Kenneth and Bessie (Sheldon) Gonyea welcomed their son into the world on February 15, 1937, in Alburgh, VT. He grew up in Alburgh later, moving to the Vermont area and then to Colchester where he resided for 28 years before moving to Dublin a year ago.
Richard worked for many years as a self-employed painter. He enjoyed caring for his home and gardens, and loved to "work", keeping himself always busy. He was a collector of clocks, especially those that chimed, and a collector of knickknacks, especially ducks.
Richard was an avid "old car-guy” and was an avid Red Sox’s fan. He was a member of the Eagles in Burlington, VT, and the Colchester VFW.
He will be greatly missed by many, especially his children, daughter Laura Maguire and her husband Frank of Dublin, NH, Richard A.
