Richard Kenneth Oberg Sr.

Richard Kenneth Oberg, Sr., 68, of West Swanzey, died Sunday afternoon at his residence following a period of declining health.

He was born on June 20, 1947, in Rutland, VT, the son of Carl and Ellen (Horvath) Oberg. He grew up in the area and graduated from MRHS in 1965. He is also a 1971 graduate of Keene State College.

Mr. Oberg married his high school sweetheart Pamela Moore on July 20, 1968 in West Swanzey.

He worked for several area businesses including DD Bean in Jaffrey and Stromgren Plumbing here in Keene.

Mr. Oberg was a member of the Village Church in West Swanzey.

He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.

His family remembers him as a strong, determined man who never said "no" to family, friends or strangers alike.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pamela Oberg of West Swanzey; his son Richard Oberg, Jr. of Raynham, MA; his daughters Rebekah Oberg of Bristol, CT and Heather Oberg of Fort Worth, TX; his grandchildren Jessica, Caitlin, Jarrod, Joshua, Emilie, Tia, Courtney, Emma and Marissa; his great grandchildren Aria, Maverick, Brenden, Ashton and Paisley; his sister Jean Ruckey of IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Oberg will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 2015, 11:00 AM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. An hour of visitation will be held the same day from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
