She was born in Keene, NH, March 13, 1954, the daughter of Timothy F. and Mary J. (Furlone) Scannell. A lifelong resident of Keene, she was a 1972 graduate of Keene High School.
She is survived by a son; Heath M. Carey and his wife Tara of Sandwich, MA, a daughter; Heather K. Mucha and her husband Rob of West Barnstable, MA; five grandchildren, Lexington Carey, Azalea Carey, Indigo Carey, Quinn Mucha, Kate Mucha; two nieces, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Two grandchildren, Violet Anna Carey and Iris Mary Carey, and a sister Mary Ann Marchant, died earlier.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene, NH. Family and friends are welcome. There are no public calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made in Mrs. Carey’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.
