His parents, Robert B. and Miriam (Kelley) Freeman proudly welcomed their son into the world on October 31, 1932 in Lynn, Mass. He grew up in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas and was a graduate of the Episcopal Academy in Pennsylvania.
Rev. Freeman received a bachelor degree in English in 1957 from Brown University and his master’s degree in English from Bridgewater State in 1963. He taught English at the Dennis-Yarmouth High School on Cape Cod, and later at the Northfield Mount Herman School in Mt. Herman, MA.
Bob met the love of his life, Barbara Edes of Greenfield, MA, and they were married on June 25, 1966.
In 1969, Rev. Freeman completed his Theological Studies at the Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, Mass. Following graduation Rev. Freeman served as Rector with churches in Newport, VT; Lee, MA; South Lee, MA; and East Hampton, MA. Prior to his retirement, Rev. Freeman was the Rector at St. John Episcopal Church in Walpole, NH for over ten years.
Being creative with his mind and hands, Bob enjoyed creating dry-stone walls, and designing gardens and landscapes. He also enjoyed reading and collecting model trains.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara E. Freeman of Keene; and his daughter, Elizabeth A. Freeman of Ashuelot, NH and her fiancé, Christopher Liller of Stratton, VT.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00AM in St. James Episcopal Church, 44 West Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
