

He was born in Keene Aug. 8, 1941, son of Herman and Edith (Doody) Hastings, and lived in Keene all of his life. He graduated from Keene High School with the class of 1960.
Mr. Hastings was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He retired from Markem Corp. in Keene after 46 years, as a machinist.
Mr. Hastings was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Troy. He loved fishing with family members, hunting, golfing and he was a member of bowling league teams over the years. He loved all regional sports teams and events. He was an avid Red Sox fan. He also had a passion for car racing.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy (Burnham) Hastings of Keene; a son, Robert Cassin and his wife, Lisa, of Spofford; a daughter, Charlean Allen and her husband, Darrell, of Limington, Maine; a stepson, Robert Flagg Jr. and his fiancée, Jackie Thomas, of Hinsdale; four grandchildren, Stanley Watts of Limington, Maine, Derek Watts of Orono, Maine, Shelby Flagg of Hinsdale and Rachel Cote of Spofford; a step-grandchild, Jesse Allen of Windham, Maine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services for Mr. Hastings will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene. Friends are invited. Burial will be in the family lot in Monadnock View Cemetery in West Keene.
Following Thursday’s services, friends and family are invited to enjoy a celebration of Mr. Hastings’ life and share memories and stories at the home of his son Bob, in Spofford.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
It has been requested that gifts be made in memory of Mr. Hastings to the N.H. Lung Association, 145 Hollis St., Manchester 03101.
